Hastings City Council defends snow removal.|
Shortly before Christmas a snowstorm hit the Hastings area, dumping nearly 8 inches of snow. Many in the Hastings area voiced their opinions with a negative viewpoint on how the City Of Hastings responded with the snow removal process. Last night Council members, the City Administrator, and even the mayor took to the side of the street department and publicly praised and defended their work. City Councilman Michael Krings was first to defend Dave Wacker and the street department crew by saying giving the conditions he thought they did an excellent job. City Administrator Joe Patterson says many people said they would pay higher property taxes for better snow removal. Patterson says that the idea that property taxes pay for snow removal is not true.
