Heineman reveals tax exemptions to be eliminated under reform
Posted: 01/21/13 08:05 Governor Heineman has revealed what state sales tax exemptions he would eliminate in order to do away with the state income tax.
Heineman proposes eliminating most sales tax exemptions enjoyed by business and agriculture to pay for eliminating individual and corporate income taxes. Heineman says he understands that there will be resistance among farmers But, the governor says the state needs to have the discussion. The governor is looking to eliminate enough sales tax exemptions to offset the loss of 2.4 Billion dollars, which would occur if the state does away with the income tax. |
