Objectif 49 Films and Director Jim Fields are thrilled to announce that their latest independent film, Flyover Country, will have its Kearney Premiere at The World Theatre on Wednesday, February 26th, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are priced at $5.00 each. The Kearney screening is part of the filmmakers’ “Flyover Nebraska” tour for the film throughout the month of February, which features screenings in other Nebraska cities including Lincoln, Wayne, and Grand Island.
Featuring a vibrant cast, Flyover Country is a comedy-drama about life in the Midwest and the first LGBT-themed film to be made in Omaha. Todd and Russ, two college students, meet in a modern literature class and quickly become friends. But that relationship is tested once Russ finds out that Todd is gay. Soon, all of Russ’s family and friends begin to believe that Russ is also gay, though he swears he is straight. Things don’t go well for Todd either once his religious conservative sister and family find out the truth about his sexual orientation. Surrounded by their polarized family and friends, Russ and Todd’s paths continue to cross as they both search for a better life in flyover country.
